JOY REPLICA

for alto saxophone, bass clarinet & piano (2022)

I was picturing something bright, mechanical and uniform, like an assembly line of little toys in a factory, endlessly rotating round and round on conveyor belts.

Commissioned by Common Ground and first performed by Maya-Leigh Rosenwasser, Hannah Shilvock and Lucy Havelock in Brighton, UK in June 2023. Revised in 2024.
